On Sunday December 10th for the 7th year in a row, MiniTruckers rolled out deep to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (C.H.O.C.) to donate toys to the sick children that would be staying at the hospital though the holidays. Shoboat So Cal hosted the C.H.O.C. cruise this year and it was presented by Playtime Foundation for Children, with help from Ministyle.com. The 7th Annual CHOC Cruise Toy Drive is in Memory of Jesse Rivera.
C.H.O.C. opened in 1964. The hospital specializes in programs for keeping healthy kids healthy and providing the most advanced medical care available for kids with serious illnesses. This hospital is 100% all about kids and doing everything they can to make the kids well.
Once again, Minitruckers rolled out deep to Anaheim Stadium home of the Angles Baseball Team. As they arrived they were met by Santa, his wife, his helpers, reindeer, and members of Shoboat. Once parked Santa’s Helpers walked around and took pictures with some of the clubs that came out to support the event.
Once 12 Noon came it was time to make one huge caravan to the hospital to put smiles on the kid’s faces. The lead vehicle was Tony Ramos from Playtime Foundation and Shoboat, followed by Santa and his wife, the reindeer and Santa’s Helpers. This year had over 400 rides in caravan making this the biggest year yet!
Once the caravan reached C.H.O.C, Shoboat, the reindeer and Santa’s helpers really stepped up! Santa’s helpers and the reindeer collected the toys and the members from Shoboat were right there getting the boxes of toys on to the carts. The kids in front of the hospital had smiles on their faces going from ear to ear watching people hit switches, dragging frames, making the beds of their truck’s dance, and waving at them.
Once the caravan was finished, the kids got to play with the vehicles that were on display in front of the hospital. It was the most amazing thing to see the kids with their IV trees in one hand and a switch box in the other making the vehicles go side to side. For Santa’s Helpers and Mrs. Clause helping the kids play with the vehicles was one of the best parts
From Shoboat So Cal, Playtime Foundation, Ministyle, and the children, their families and staff at C.H.O.C, we want to say Thank You to each and every one of you for come out to the event. Without your support this event would not be possible. It’s because of your donations its possible for the children to even be able to celebrate the holidays With the amount of toys donated, children at the hospital will have presents not only for the holidays but also for birthdays, special rewards (like after having surgery, having a special treatment, etc) and other special events through out the year.
