DROPT & DESTROYED 2006

Coverage and Photos by: Brandon Dowler

Well on the weekend of Sept 30/Oct 1, I headed to the show called "Dropt & Destroyed 3 (Being that it is in it's 3rd year), Hosted by the club Dropt Out. The show was located just outside Cleveland in Independence, Ohio at the famous Quaker Steak and Lube. The Lube is known for some of the best wings in Ohio, They even have a sauce that requires a waiver to be signed before eating. So on Saturday the crew from Dropt Out held pre-registration from 6-9pm and that gave you 15% off your bill at the Lube that night. I headed out to the hotel to meet up with some of the other AcrophobiA members before heading down to the show grounds to register and enjoy a night of festivities with the others attending the show.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't to promising Saturday evening with rain and thunderstorms, so the majority of the show goers were inside enjoying their favorite food and cold beverages. Later that night we headed back to the hotel to get some rest for the next day's events, but like always the party carried over to the early hours Sunday morning. Sunday morning was looking very promising for some nice weather, so we headed down to the show grounds to claim our spots and set up for the show. The fall Ohio weather was gorgeous and the venue was filling up rapidly with close to 150 registered show-goers eagerly arriving to show off their wicked creations.

The show was busy with people checking out rides and mingling with others they haven't seen for awhile or just meeting new friends. The Dropt Out crew held some contests and giveaways later in the afternoon with prizes ranging from gift certificates, DVD's, T-shirts, and various automotive care products from Suicide Doors, Garage Tease, Domination the Video, Drop Em Wear, Meguires, Stoner, and Horizon Motorsports. One of the contests was a car/truck limbo, with several vehicles trying to see who could go the lowest under the limbo stick. The winner of that contest was a "to the doors" Nissan and he walked away with a nice gift certificate to Suicide Doors, along with the 2nd and 3rd place finishers.

The show wrapped up around 5pm with an award ceremony that brought more prizes and giveaways along with some killer trophies. This show is only in it's third year and has grown in attendance every year. The Dropt Out crew goes over and beyond to bring you one of Ohio's finest shows. This is a must attend show for all, so keep your calendars open for next years show. Visit www.droptout.com for more details on next years event.
