Nopi, which is held in Atlanta, Georgia, is known as the largest import car show and it lives up to that statement year after year. We joined up with the Super Street Tour in Charlotte, N.C. and drove down to Atlanta with a group of 200 other domestics and imports. When the group arrived at Atlanta Motor Speedway everyone got to take 5 laps around the track and see what their car really could do. Saturday morning the gates to Nopi opened bright and early at 7:00 AM so that show participants could get an early start on cleaning. The vendors were also ready early on Saturday to get a head start on giving away freebies and displaying and selling their specialty products.
The show events also got underway on Saturday. The hydraulics competition got heads turning by breaking the record for the highest jump at Nopi, even jumping higher than the 90” measuring device. The burnout competition was also unique because it was a three-way competition, with a CRX with a V-8 killing the competition. Nopi was just as big this year as it has been in years past, but not near as hot. The show was awesome and will continue to thrive in years to come.
