Well this year’s event was certainly not short on good times and good friends. I rolled into the show on Friday night about midnight after a long hot drive from Vegas to Cali, only to step out of my truck and begin shivering immediately, but every goose-bump was worth the long drive and the fun that was ahead.
After quickly setting up the tents my friends from the other chapters of SunSet and I grabbed some beverages and headed off on an adventure through the camps. Meandering about we bumped into Cherokee who was relaxing and recuperating from a dangerous golf-cart accident, but nonetheless with a cold beer in hand. The stage was clearly the place to be on Friday night with bumpin beats from Roulette of Madhouse FX and his boys. Thanks for keeping it rolling on into the early morning hours.
Saturday morning was silent until the smell of pancakes, tire gloss and drunken mini-truckers started to fill the air. The sun was rising and with that came perfect weather. The show was on, with many old school vans, lots of slammed minis, and sleek imports you couldn’t ask for a better show. The afternoon heat was cooled or might we say warmed up more with the lovely ladies who participated in the wet t-shirt contest. Nice work ladies! And we can’t forget about those run virgins. Whom were the recipients of the usual free shot’s, beer, mustard, ketchup, feathers, and of coarse a swat or two.
Summer madness is on of those runs that you can just relax and have a good time. A lot like the runs of the past. When good friend and good beer were all that mattered, and a trophy was just icing on the cake. So if you haven’t had the chance to make it to this run. You should definitely think of making it next year. Heck I’ll even have a cold one waiting for you.
