Summer Splash 2006

Coverage and Photos by: Chromey and Cheri

Summer Splash September 8th –10th.  Where to start… Damn weather, Cal Trans and CHP… ok I feel better. Thursday night 80 mph winds worked over those campsites that had been set up. Then came the rain that felt the need to wash away the roads. Of course CHP felt the need to use the roads as an excuse to write tickets to anyone and everyone. Over all, due to the weather, Cal Trans, and CHP over 500 people who tried to come to the event couldn’t make it because they were told to turn around and go home. There was story after story of Minitruckers helping Minitruckers save what they could from the 80 mph winds. Some of the best stories from this event came from Minitruckers helping Minitruckers save stuff from the wind.

So, once all that drama was over it was time to have some fun. The weather was GREAT! 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the morning shorts a wife better was the best outfit to have on, guy or girl. The show area had a view of the river that was perfect for show coverage. Saturday morning was the show, the show area was a little cramped, but the show had some great rides to look at. After the show and before the stage got started, Minitruckers took full advantage of being right on the river to stay cool and relax.

Saturday night was all about how naked can you get a chick who has had way to much to drink and how many things can you get a drunk chick to do. First off, things started to get warmed up with the Bikini Contest! Next ladies took turn doing their thing on the stage, and to make sure things didn’t get boring, every so often the ladies had to kiss to make sure they still deserved to be up on the stage. As the night went on, as you can see in the pictures, when told to kiss each other, kissing each other on the mouth got old fast and the ladies found OTHER body parts to kiss.

Then came Sunday or otherwise called “What the hell did I do last night “ People were hurting when it came time to hand out trophies, Regardless of how outrageous the party got over all when they said they were bringing back an old school event to a new school crowed they were not kidding. Except for some problems, some big some small, it really did feel like being back at an old school event. Spectrum and Concrete Deep put on one hell of a river run. They did a great job. Doing a river run is not easy, and this is one if not the only river run that someone didn’t die at. If you can do a run at the river and not lose anyone you had to have done something right.
